Karakal in badminton – BN60 and Super PU Grip
For many badminton players, Karakal is best known for two distinctive product ranges: the exceptionally lightweight BN60 and the popular Super PU Grip. At Racket World, you will find the regular BN60, an exclusive black-blue Limited Edition and several versions of the proven replacement grip.
Karakal – Evolution by Design
The Karakal brand originated in Belgium in 1978. Its range developed around rackets, grips, footwear, clothing and further racket-sports accessories.
In badminton, Karakal is particularly associated with very lightweight rackets and the long-established Super PU Grip. This page intentionally focuses on the products that are most relevant to badminton players at Racket World.
Karakal BN60
With an approximate frame weight of 60 grams, the BN60 is one of the exceptionally lightweight badminton rackets. Its head-heavy balance and flexible to medium-flex shaft are designed to support effective acceleration despite the low weight.
Karakal Super PU Grip
The Super PU Grip is a self-adhesive replacement grip rather than a thin overgrip. Its slightly tacky PU surface, secure hold and comfortable feel have made it a popular classic for badminton, tennis and squash.
Why is the Karakal BN60 so well known?
Its defining feature is the extremely low frame weight. This allows the BN60 to be moved quickly and makes it particularly interesting for players who prefer short reaction times, agile handling and energy-efficient racket movement.
The low frame weight supports quick changes of direction and responsive racket movement.
The balance supports acceleration through the hitting zone and compensates for part of the exceptionally low overall weight.
Drives, defensive movements and fast exchanges in doubles are among the typical areas in which the BN60 feels at home.
The BN60 can be tested through Racket World before making your final purchase decision.

The Limited Edition combines the proven playing characteristics of the BN60 with a distinctive black-blue special finish. It is aimed at players who want the familiar lightweight Karakal concept with a rarer and more individual appearance.
As the technical construction is identical to the standard model, the decision mainly comes down to design, exclusivity and limited availability.
Karakal Super PU Grip – a bestseller in many versions
The Karakal Super PU Grip is one of the best-known replacement grips in racket sports. Racket World offers it as a single grip and in different larger packs, colours and mixed-colour versions.
The Super PU is applied directly as the main grip on the racket handle. It replaces the existing base grip and is not a thin overgrip.
The slightly tacky, thicker PU surface provides secure hold, comfortable cushioning and a pleasant grip feel.
The Slow Release Formula is designed to absorb moisture and release it gradually, helping the grip feel remain as consistent as possible.
Single grips are ideal for trying the product. Larger boxes are particularly useful for frequent players, coaches and clubs that replace grips regularly.
