Yonex Astrox 100 ZZ Kurenai – an extra-stiff attacking racket made in Japan

The Yonex Astrox 100 ZZ Kurenai 4U/G5 combines a head-heavy balance with an extra-stiff Hyper Slim Shaft. This Japanese-made Yonex badminton racket is aimed at advanced players looking for direct feedback for powerful attacks and precise follow-up shots.

Does the Astrox 100 ZZ suit your game?

A good match for: technically confident club and tournament players who use a fast swing to build pressure. Its attacking setup suits smashes, forceful clears and well-placed follow-up attacks in singles or from the rear court in doubles.

Less suitable if: you prefer a flexible shaft or a head-light balance. The extra-stiff shaft calls for deliberate acceleration and good timing. The key is whether this specification suits your technique.

What sets the Astrox 100 ZZ apart

Extra-stiff Hyper Slim Shaft with Namd: The slim shaft combines HM Graphite and Namd. Its geometry and extra-stiff specification shape the direct feedback of this model. It is aimed at players who accelerate their swing deliberately and make consistent, well-timed contact.

Frame with Black Micro Core and NANOMETRIC: The frame combines these materials with HM Graphite, Namd and Tungsten. Its material specification therefore differs from the Game and Tour versions in the Astrox 100 family. The isometric head and AERO+BOX profile complement the construction.

Rotational Generator System: The coordinated weight distribution supports the racket’s focus on consecutive attacking shots. Energy Boost Cap Plus, Solid Feel Core and New Built-in T-Joint are also part of the technical specification.

Astrox 100 ZZ, Tour or Game?

The Astrox 100 Tour Kurenai also has an extra-stiff Namd shaft, but uses different frame materials and is made in Taiwan. Sharing a flex rating therefore does not automatically mean identical construction or the same hitting feel.

The Astrox 100 Game Kurenai has a medium-flex shaft made from HM Graphite and NANOMESH NEO. It is the alternative within this model group if you prefer a less stiff response.
