Oliver Energetic K9 – extra stiff for fast attacking play
Want to take the initiative early in a rally and prefer a firm
shaft response? The Oliver Energetic K9 combines
an extra-stiff shaft with slightly head-light balance. Consider
this setup if you want direct feedback without choosing a
distinctly head-heavy racket. This White/Black/Blue version
comes factory-strung with Oliver CORE 68.
Who should consider the Energetic K9?
Our assessment: advanced club and tournament players,
particularly for attacking doubles and mixed doubles.
We would shortlist the K9 if you prefer fast drives, compact
swings and a firm response. The extra-stiff shaft calls for
suitable timing. A more flexible setup is the more obvious
choice for players who want noticeable give in the shaft.
Compared with the Energetic K7: the K7 has a
flexible shaft, while the K9 is extra stiff. They are therefore
not simply different colourways; they cater to different
preferences in hitting feel.
Slightly head-light, extra stiff and made with Metacarbon
Direct shaft response:
The extra-stiff shaft bends comparatively little. It is aimed
at players who generate their own racket speed and prefer
firm feedback at contact.
Slightly head-light balance:
The weight distribution differs from a head-heavy attacking
racket. This setup is worth considering for quick transitions
between forehand and backhand.
Metacarbon™ and a High-Tension frame:
OLIVER combines the carbon material with a frame construction
focused on stiffness. A firm, direct playing character is
central to the K9.
