Oliver Apex 920 – ultra-light squash racket for fast power play
The Oliver Apex 920 is a premium squash racket for experienced club and competitive players looking for a very light and responsive frame. With an approximate frame weight of only 105 g, it is one of the lightest rackets in Oliver’s Professional Line.
Its head-light balance supports fast handling and short reaction times. At the same time, the open longstring head shape produces longer main strings and a pronounced trampoline effect for increased ball acceleration.
Approx. 105 g frame weight
The exceptionally low frame weight makes the Apex 920 highly manoeuvrable. It can be accelerated quickly from the ready position and returned rapidly after each shot.
This is particularly useful for volleys, fast exchanges around the T and late changes of direction. However, the low weight rewards an active, technically sound swing because there is less natural mass behind the ball than with a heavier racket.
Head-light balance for quick reactions
The head-light setup makes the Apex 920 feel agile despite its longstring head shape. The racket head can be corrected quickly and guided accurately.
This balance is particularly suitable for players who take the ball early, volley frequently and apply pressure through pace, deception and rapid direction changes.
Longstring design for additional ball speed
In the longstring construction, the main strings extend further towards the handle than on a conventional bridge frame. This allows the strings to flex more at impact.
The resulting trampoline effect supports high ball speed and powerful drives. The response is also more lively and forgiving than that of a compact bridge construction.
Eplon™+K12 for lightweight stability
The frame is made from Eplon™+K12. This material construction combines low weight with the stability required from a performance squash racket.
The frame therefore remains controlled during fast swings and provides direct energy transfer. The Apex 920 is nevertheless clearly intended for players with established technique and several years of squash experience.
Low-vibration response
Oliver describes the Apex 920 as having particularly low-vibration characteristics. This reduces unwanted oscillation at impact and creates a calmer, more comfortable response.
During intensive training and repeated fast contacts, this setup can improve playing comfort without completely removing the racket’s direct feel.
Factory strung with Oliver SQ-X9
The racket is supplied ready to play with an Oliver SQ-X9 string. For later restringing, Oliver recommends approximately 12 kg on the mains and 10 kg on the crosses.
A full-size protective cover is included for storage and transport.

Who should choose the Oliver Apex 920?
The Apex 920 suits technically experienced players looking for an exceptionally light squash racket for rapid volleys, short reaction times and powerful attacking play.
Its head-light balance and longstring design combine quick handling with additional ball acceleration. Players who prefer a heavier and calmer impact feel may be better served by a racket with more frame mass.
