Which indoor badminton net should you choose?

Traditional badminton nets without their own frame are normally the right choice for sports halls, clubs and schools. They attach to existing posts or a permanent badminton net installation.

Important factors include the net width, the available attachment system and the intended use. For regular club training and realistic playing conditions, the net should cover the full court width.

Net width and height

A full-size badminton net is approximately 6.02 m wide and covers the complete doubles and mixed court.

Regulation net height is 1.55 m at the posts. The centre of the net sits slightly lower. The important point is even tension without excessive sagging.

Badminton net without posts

A traditional indoor net normally does not include a frame. Check that suitable badminton posts, floor sockets and attachment points are available before ordering.

Tensioning accessories

A badminton net should be held securely without unnecessary strain on the material or posts. Depending on the installation, a clamp-buckle strap or a stronger ratchet system may be suitable.

Storage and maintenance

• Store the net in dry conditions
• Check straps and tension cords regularly
• Replace damaged hooks and buckles
• Avoid excessive net tension
• Check that posts and floor sockets remain secure
