Description
Reviews

Babolat Jetstream 78 – New 01/2025. 78 grams, even balance, Shot Optimizer. More power than the Jetstream 74 at the same lightness.

The Babolat Jetstream 78 is the second-lightest racket in the Babolat badminton range – four grams heavier than the Jetstream 74, but with an even balance instead of head-light. That makes the difference: the even balance enables slightly more swing mass on smashes and clears while still being reactive enough for fast doubles and mixed play. Shot Optimizer System for an enlarged sweet spot and Slim T-Technology for better aerodynamics are fitted in both models. Colour white-gold. Made in China.

The Shot Optimizer System is the central new feature of the Jetstream 78. The enlarged sweet spot makes the racket significantly more forgiving – even imperfectly struck shuttles land with good control and energy on the other side of the net. This is particularly valuable in fast doubles play where there's no time for optimal stroke preparation. Slim T-Technology refines the aerodynamic properties through a particularly narrow T-joint – the connection piece between shaft and frame. Less air resistance means higher racket head speed with the same power input – directly noticeable on fast drives and net counters. The even balance makes the Jetstream 78 more versatile than the head-light Jetstream 74 – it suits both fast doubles play and singles. The medium-stiff shaft is comfortable and forgiving – accessible for a wide range of playing levels.

Jetstream 74 or Jetstream 78 – which one suits you?

The Jetstream 74 (head-light, 74g) is the faster specialist for doubles and mixed – ideal for players who prioritise maximum reactive speed at the net. The Jetstream 78 (even balance, 78g) is slightly more versatile – a little more swing mass for more powerful shots, yet still ultra-light. Want to try both first? We offer them as loan test rackets.
